As covered in the Compliance Clinic broadcast on Monday 20th April. The FCA has published a consultation paper seeking industry views on how it can simplify and clarify existing rules to expand access to advice.
The latest proposals include amendments to the existing COBS rules for investment and pension firms, to help simplify processes where the advice need is straightforward. They also propose new flexibility around ongoing advice services, moving away from the strict‘ annual’ review requirement to a requirement to offer‘ periodic’ reviews.
